A5, 192 pages, sewn in sections so it lies flat on a table without being held down. Cloth over board in Spruce, with the route foiled in brass.

The paper is 120 gsm, which takes fountain pen without ghosting through, and the dots are ruled at 5 mm and printed faint enough to ignore when you want to. There is a ribbon, an elastic, and a pocket at the back that will hold a folded map.

Why it is made this way

A glued spine cracks after a year of being pushed open. A sewn one does not, which is the whole reason this costs more than a supermarket notebook and the only reason worth giving.
