The Plodded Path

I was impatient long before anyone had an excuse for it. Then I spent twelve days of my life brushing other people's teeth.

I could have named this The Plodded Path. Slow work is not in my nature. I was impatient long before anyone had an excuse for it.

And yet: four minutes a day, every day, for every small mouth in this house. 17,520 minutes. Twelve days and counting, spent standing at a sink with toothpaste in my hair and more water on the floor than an indoor waterpark.

Not a thing to show for it. No medals, no shelf of finished work, nothing to point at. In another twelve hours I'll be met with the same dawdling and often uncooperative mouths.

The slow work is the point.
